Why Tarnish Apollo Creed’s Image?

Why tarnish Apollo Creed's image?, mental health, self-hatred, low self-esteem

Who wrote Rocky?  We all know the answer to that famous question.  Sylvester Stallone wrote the story of Rocky in the 70’s.  According to Stallone, he crafted the character of the great Apollo Creed after the great Muhammad Ali.

As a result of Sylvester Stallone’s writing, the great Apollo Creed was highly intelligent, competent, responsible and strong.  He was portrayed as a good husband and a solid father.

Who wrote Creed?  Ryan Coogler started writing Creed in 2012 and completed the job with the help with Aaron Covington.

With this being the case, please explain why these two gentlemen felt it necessary to tarnish Apollo Creed’s image?

When this project was in Sylvester Stallone’s hands, Apollo Creed’s character was one of honor and admiration.  Once Ryan Coogler and Aaron Covington got their hands on it, the great Apollo Creed became an irresponsible person guilty of infidelity.  Why?

Ryan Coogler, you are both the director as well as half of the screenplay writing team for this movie.  At any point in time, you could have gone in a different direction with your depiction of Apollo as a husband and father.  Sir, I just don’t understand, why you chose to tarnish Apollo Creed’s image.

That’s what ithinkie.

I am always open to learn your reasoning.
